In light of the increasingly heterogeneous student body in terms of language and culture and the changed communication requirements of the job market, language teaching and intercultural skills are essential for professional training in all subjects. To date, these are not a regular component of the of teacher and trainer qualification.

For the design of successful instruction in all subjects that supports students individually and effectively, action-oriented, explorative and integrative concepts have to be developed regarding linguistic support and intercultural sensitivity in general.

The project aims to develop and test innovative educational concepts and materials for the promotion and measure of the oral and written language skills of vocational school students. In addition, a qualification concept for future vocational school teachers is to be created to promote development of instructional skills in the areas language and communication. In cooperation with the State Ministry for Education, approaches for teacher training should be developed and comprehensively introduced in Bavaria.
